Higher Ed Board Committee Recommends Tuition Rate Hikes at All ND Universities

Last month legislators approved a bill that would cap raising tuition at the state’s universities by 2.5% annually, and the State Board of Higher Education finance committee voted to raise tuition at most universities by that much.

Dalrymple Announces Appointments to Higher Education Board

— Official News Release — Gov. Jack Dalrymple today announced the appointments of Nicholas Hacker and Greg Stemen to the State Board of Higher Education. Hacker, of Bismarck, will replace Terry Hjelmstad following the completion of Hjelmstad’s term on June 30. Stemen, of Fort Ransom, will replace Grant Shaft whose term also expires June 30.

Six Finalists for Two Open Board of Higher Education Seats

Board of Higher Education Revises Legislation to Restrict Open Records

The State Board of Higher Education revised the language in its proposed legislation on restricting access to University President evaluations. New language clarifies that final reviews will be made public. Additionally, language on restricting internal draft audits was removed.

Universty System Looks to Limit Open Records in Some Cases

The proposal outlined at the November 20th State Board of Higher Ed meeting would remove public early access to internal draft audits and presidential evaluations. The records would eventually be released after the SBHE and University system addressed the evaluations and audits internally.

Board of Education Accepts Higher Admission Standards for NDSU and UND

If you want to attend either U.N.D. or N.D.S.U., the admissions standards are going up. Minimum G.P.A. will go up to 2.75, and the minimum ACT score will be 22. In addition, the number of core courses required will scale up incrementally over the next three years.
