A fly-over rendering of Minot’s first phase of flood protection is available on Youtube. Phase one is being designed by Houston Engineering and extends from near the Broadway bridge East to 3rd Street. Major parts of the project include:
- A significant floodwall for almost the entire length of 4th Avenue.
- 4th Avenue will be shifted to the North to make room for the flood wall.
- A new intersection with traffic lights at the North end of the 3rd street bridge.
- A large pump station on the Southwest corner of Broadway and 4th Avenue.
Construction on phase one is expected to start in 2017 and will be coordinated with work on the Broadway bridge.
