The Souris River as it passes through Minot has lost much of its natural allure — mostly due to the fact we’ve been trying to figure out how to protect ourselves when it floods. But a conversation has started about how to recover some of what we’ve lost in terms of the benefits a river provides to a community.
And for some outside perspective on that conversation, here’s a story from Los Angeles that speaks to a similar effort. One of the big supporters of this project — the federal government.

Full Disclosure: I am an active supporter of the idea to restore and renew the Souris River through Minot and member of the Friends of the Souris River (@sourisfriends)
