— Official News Release, City of Minot —

At a press conference held today, Minot City Manager Lee Staab informed the citizens of Minot that work will recommence on the two downtown parking structures. Staab: “On February 10th, I informed Shaw-Lundquist that they were to provide me with a construction schedule that would fulfill their contract with the City, and get these parking structures completed by the end of the 2015 Construction season. I gave them 30 days to put the schedule together, and I’m pleased to report that I received it yesterday afternoon.”

According to the schedule provided to the city, Shaw-Lundquist will mobilize equipment and man-power to the site on March 25th, 26th and 27th, and begin construction on March 28th. The Renaissance Ramp located at 3rd Avenue and 1st Street SW will be completed first, followed by the Central Ramp, located on Central Avenue and 1st Street SW.

Staab said that Shaw-Lundquist and Associates continue to resolve differences with sub-contractors, but the City of Minot is not a party to those discussions. “The City of Minot’s contract to complete the parking structures is solely with Shaw-Lundquist. I have been assured by them that they will meet their contractual obligations, and it’s my duty as City Manager to make sure that happens at the price that was originally negotiated.”

The City of Minot Public Information Office will send an advisory on road closures and detours as soon as they become available.
