On the morning of October 25, 2024, at approximately 7:30 a.m., officers from the Minot Police Department were dispatched to a residence in southwest Minot in response to a reported domestic disturbance.
According to the Minot Police Department, the Central Dispatch had received a call indicating an argument between a male and a female. During the call, dispatchers overheard threats involving the use of a firearm.
Officers arrived at the scene, and during the course of the incident, two officers discharged their department-issued firearms. The male involved in the reported domestic disturbance was struck and pronounced deceased at the scene.
In accordance with standard protocol, the officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave. The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) has taken over the investigation into the incident.
