Minot, ND – Construction for Phase MI-6 of the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project (MREFPP) is ramping up this spring, with a key traffic change set to begin this week to support critical flood protection efforts in the area.
Beginning Monday, April 7, Central Avenue will be closed at 8th Street NE to allow construction on the dead loop located west of 8th Street. This closure is necessary to safely complete essential flood control infrastructure.
As a result of the Central Avenue closure:
- No through traffic will be allowed from Burdick Expressway to Central Avenue via 8th Street NE.
- Access to Roosevelt Park will be maintained from the south.
- Residents along Central Avenue will continue to have access from the west.
Residents and travelers are encouraged to use alternate routes and plan for delays. For real-time updates, visit the City of Minot’s Traffic Impact Map at www.minotnd.gov/trafficmap.
