BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) has been notified of a pipeline leak in Burke County 11 miles northwest of Powers Lake. The report indicates that the pipeline, owned by Oasis Petroleum LLC, leaked approximately 500 barrels of produced water (brine), of which 475 barrels have been recovered. The spill has impacted a nearby wetland.
The NDDoH is onsite and is providing oversight of the cleanup, which is underway. North Dakota Oil and Gas Division has also been on-site.
