ND Ballot Initiative Results

The big story of 2014 Election in North Dakota was the ballot initiatives. Here are the results.

  • Measure 1. Life Begins at Conception added to the State Constitution. DEFEATED.
    • No: ~64% (160,728)
    • Yes:  ~36% (89,888)
  • Measure 2. Prohibit mortgage taxes and taxes on transfer of mortgage or real estate. WINS.
    • Yes: ~76% (187,641)
    • No:  ~24% (60,241)
  • Measure 3:  Change the Higher Education board to a three person board made up of appointed persons. DEFEATED.
    • No: ~75% (181,808)
    • Yes: ~25% (60,819)
  • Measure 4: Make it a  harder to put constitutional changes and initiated measures on the ballot. DEFEATED
    • No: ~57% (135,408)
    • Yes:  ~43% (103,888)
  • Measure 5. Clean Water Initiative to create a conservation fund. DEFEATED.
    • No: ~79% (198,596)
    • Yes: ~21% (51,578)
  • Measure 6. Equal Rights and Responsibilities for Parents. DEFEATED.
    • No: ~62% (151,460)
    • Yes:  ~38% (92,471)
  • Measure 7. The Pharmacy Ownership Measure. DEFEATED.
    • No: ~59% (147,066)
    • Yes: ~41% (102,406)
  • Measure 8. School Starts After Labor Day. DEFEATED.
    • No: ~56% (136,419)
    • Yes: ~44% (109, 148)
