ND Attorney General: Dakota Access Land Purchase is Legal

Earlier this fall, Dakota Acess purchased land near the site of the #NoDAPL protest camps from a private rancher. It was a move that sparked controversy because, at first look, it appeared to be in violation of North Dakota’s corporate farming laws. Now, Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has issued an opinion that Dakota Access had cause to purchase the land for commercial purposes, but the manner in which it is used will be monitored.
