The universe is a big place. Our little Milky Way galaxy is estimated to have more than 100,000 stars just like our Sun. There are believed to be more 2 trillion galaxies in the universe. It makes the mathematic odds of another planet with life like Earth pretty likely, but the odds of finding it really unlikely. Nonetheless, the James Webb Space Telescope is on the job, and the in its first year of operation it’s delivering a bunch of new information on exoplanets in other solar systems.
