Fargo’s flood protection plan is stuck in the courts because of a lack of permits from the State of Minnesota. Over the past few weeks, Governor Burgum initiated talks with Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton to see if there’s a way forward. The result: it’s a committee formed quickly to take a look at possible resolutions. But after one meeting, it seems some of the basic assumptions of the overall plan need to first be addressed. It’s significant for Minot because Fargo’s plan is the other competitor for state dollars allocated to flood protection by the legislature.
