Effective Immediately: Watering Lawns Banned in Minot

— Official News Release, City of Minot —

The City of Minot has issued ban on watering lawns following an incident in which a contractor struck a supply line that provides raw water to the City of Minot Water Treatment Plant. The ban will remain in place until further notice.

City of Minot Public Works Director, Dan Jonasson says they hope to have the line fixed later this week, and the city will issue a release when lawns may start being watered again. Residents and businesses are being asked to use water only as necessary, and to conserve water by not washing cars, and by using other common sense approaches to water conservation.

All city water is still safe for drinking, cooking and bathing.
