Earth Recycling Fire Draws Multi-Department Response

Correction: At the time of publishing, this article referenced the City of Minot Fire Department as one of the responding jurisdictions. That was partially incorrect. The City of Minot FD was on-site providing air-quality monitoring but did not contribute manpower or equipment directly to the fire response.

A significant fire on Minot’s Northwest edge has drawn a response from most of the area’s fire departments including Rural Minot, the MAFB, Burlington, and others.

According to reports from KMOT News on-site live Facebook coverage, businesses including a daycare in the area have been evacuated. One person is believed to have been removed via ambulance. Here’s KMOT’s live report.

For perspective on the fire and the fuel available on the site, see the attached Google Map images below. Semi-trailers had been placed on the lot’s North boundary of the lot — assumingly to shield the public view of the large amounts of recyclable material stored on the site.
