Crude oil spill reported in Bottineau County

BISMARCK, N.D. – Scout Energy Management LLC notified the North Dakota of Environmental Quality on Wednesday, Feb. 5, of a crude oil release that occurred five miles northwest of Maxbass. Initial estimates from Scout indicate 300 barrels (12,600 gallons) of crude oil released from a tank overflow , some of which sprayed off the well pad.

Personnel from the NDDEQ are working with the responsible party and will continue to monitor the remediation.
