Water water everywhere and not a drop to drink. In North Dakota, in 2024, of all things we don’t have access to — it’s natural gas. In the heart of where it’s extracted, we can’t get it out of the pipelines, and that’s proving to be a real bummer for those with new industrial ideas for North Dakota. Because when it comes to industry, the pipelines don’t get built for the “potential” users; they get built for existing users — where demand is proven. So getting access to the resource for a project that is only in the planning stages is tough. It’s a problem our legislators are working, but getting the industry to speculate is proving difficult.
