The weather put a damper on our last effort, but we’re going to be back at it this Saturday. Friends of the Souris will be coordinating a river clean-up in SE Minot. Here’s what you need to know:

What: We’re going to be in and around the river cleaning trash and deadfall. There will be opportunities to work as hard and get as dirty as you want, but we also have areas for those who are more suited to more casual cleaning and litter pick up.

Time: 11:00 a.m, we’ll go until we don’t want to go any longer; feel free to come and go as your schedule allows.

Location: We’ll be headquartered out of County land off 27th St. SE between Burdick Expressway and Valley Street. Look for the road that leads to the river right before/after the railroad tracks. See the map below.

Bring: Gloves, work clothes, waders, water, and anything else you think may be useful in extracting items from the river.

Friends of the Souris River, Let's Restore & Renew the Souris River!

Minot's now-dead loops are an embarrassment. But underneath the silt and duck weed are the last remnants of a natural river.
