A year ago last summer this hen was the usual industrious fowl, performing her house wifely duties in an exemplary way and assisting in filling Mr. Schwede’s egg basket with regularity. Early this spring, however the hen showed evidences of the newer thought, and failed to produce any eggs. More than that, she ceased to cackle and began to crow. Late this fall the hen began a surprising development of the comb and wattles and now has a typical rooster’s head.
