Frequently you will hear newspaper men complain because their papers are not receiving the proper support from the businessmen. When you do you will generally see a slow town. It is a well known fact that there never was a good city that did not have good papers. The advancement of a city is always due to a great extent to her newspapers. And on the other hand, the growth of a newspaper is due to an enterprising set of businessmen. It is necessary to walk hand in hand, so to speak. It is hard to ascertain just what Minot owes to her newspapers. The businessman who contributes to the support of the newspapers of his town not only gets his money’s worth in advertising, but reaps an indirect benefit worth more perhaps than the good he gets from his space in the papers. This thought is worth considering.
