Every Property Benefits
Every piece of property in Minot is worth more money from the results of this campaign and the monetary gain is little as compared to the satisfaction one receives in living amid more beautiful surroundings.

High Price of War
An American correspondent in Europe who has had unusual opportunities to witness military operations and talk with military officers says that usually it takes 1,000 men to take a trench defended by 100, and that the average loss in killed to the attackers is 200 men. In spite of better “artillery preparation” prior to assaults upon defended works, this ratio still holds good, it is said. It is therefore patent that the offensive on the western front is serious business, though mention of losses is seldom made in the dispatches. It has been claimed that the allies would move forward whenever they are ready to pay the price. Evidently they are paying for it.
