On This Day | Rude Hunters Ruin Access

“One woman complained about the way hunters violated the privacy of their home last open season. She said hunters actually came up and looked in the windows of her home. She asked them to stay off her place, and they promised they would only drive across her place, without guns. She says they didn’t keep their promise, but came right through armed with their high power rifles.”

The Ward County Independent, November 14, 1940

Why We Chose It

We’re right in the middle of the season where the harping has to happen. In our time, the rude hunters have unified many of the landowners and they’re looking to the legislature to post their land for them. North Dakota’s tradition of “access” sets us a part, but rude hunters are sure to be one cause if our “good thing” is spoiled.
