We heard the pastor say Sunday that the man was the head of the house. This is all right from a theoretical point of view, but it usually works out the other way. The good woman usually works out some plan whereby she becomes the ruler of the home, and the unsuspecting lord and master doesn’t realize it. Nine times out of ten the woman is the homemaker and if her plans are followed they generally prove to be right. It’s probably a good thing to let the conceited husband think he’s the boss.

Why We Chose It
These stories are still present today. Those form outside of Minot — upon experiencing the community for the first time — often have a higher view of it than those who’ve spent a lifetime here. Thankfully, our news then wasn’t shy about sharing the good news.
New Good Ideas Turned Out Not So Good
A great idea has struck a Michigan judge. He thinks many a criminal is vicious because he cannot help it; some screw loose in his head, so instead of sending the fellow to jail, who will be as bad as ever when he gets out, the judge sends the rascal to a surgeon to examine. He looks the chap over, discovers the loose screw, dissects some of the anatomy, and returns the man to society, clear in brain and ready to study for the ministry. Why imprison the poor fellow for stealing a ham, if it is in his blood? Purify his blood. Sarsaparilla!
