Before the “News” was “Unbiased”

“The Optic poses as a great moral organ, and at the same time has allowed itself to be used by an unscrupulous gang of political buccaneers as ever disgraced party organization in this State. The Optic is continually having little meaningless editorials about ‘keeping your heart from turning to adamant’ keep a heart full of cheerfulness, ad infinitum ad nauseum. The newspaper or individual who wants to pose as a moralist and at the same time is used by the unscrupulous should be roped, thrown down and tied and microscopically examined to see what its little game is.”
