In Verse: As Holy a Spot

U2–Magnificent

at a hilltop chapel above a little village with an amazing cafe
along a dried up riverbed


I stood in the holy sanctuary next to the altar dedicated to the
Virgin –what a view—desert all white and brush


there were many offerings on the altar, and melted candles as well
as a half empty bottle of tequila


it was perhaps as holy a spot as I have ever be
