At 4:07 p.m. on Dec. 18, the Minot Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 1002 43rd St. SE, Unit #6.
Truck 5 arrived on the scene just 3 minutes and 45 seconds after being dispatched and discovered heavy smoke coming from a utility room connected to the apartments. Firefighters performed fire attack and search and rescue operations. Once the search was completed, it was confirmed that all occupants and pets were out of the apartments before the fire department’s arrival.
The response included one battalion chief, one ladder truck, three engines, and crews from four of the five stations. All crews were able to respond in under five minutes, as they were still on the scene of a previous fire 1.4 miles away on 16th Ave. SE.
The fire remains under investigation.
