At 12:18 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18, the Minot Fire Department was dispatched to an electrical fire at 509 7th St. NE.
Engine 2 arrived on the scene within 3 minutes and 10 seconds after being dispatched. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke in the basement from an unknown source. An electrical panel was found to have failed and was arcing. The sole resident and their pet were already outside the structure before the fire department’s arrival.
The response included one battalion chief, one ladder truck, two engines, and Xcel Energy.
The fire remains under investigation.
