The Minot City Council will hold its regular meeting on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 5:30 PM in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 10 3rd Ave SW. Residents in need of special accommodations are encouraged to contact the City Clerkâs office at 857-4752. This meeting will include the roll call, Pledge of Allegiance, and reports from the Mayor and City Manager. City Council meetings can also be live-streamed from the City of Minot’s Youtube channel found here.
Along with regular business and consent agenda items, the Council will consider the following items of note:
Park District Sales Tax Special Election. This topic has generated considerable news and conversation in recent weeks. The City Council will act to officially set the special election date and ballot language that will shape the ordinance and taxing bounds and dates. At question: Do the citizens of Minot want to add a 1/2 cent sales tax and reduce the allowed property tax cap for the Park District?
Broadway Circle. The Broadway Circle Family Homeless Shelter is a distressed City-initiated project that was taken on with funding from the National Disaster Resilience Competition grant award. The City is looking for an entity to take on the property and operate it following the collapse of Project Bee late in 2023. The RFP process the City initiated did not return interested parties; City staff is looking for direction from Council on the next direction.
