As you run your gratitude list today, here’s one item to add. Today, add a little extra thanks for our police officers and the Minot Police Department.
If you’re out of the loop, the Minot Police Department is in the middle of a difficult moment. The department’s dirty laundry has been aired publicly as result of a difficult but necessary internal investigation.
The job is hard enough to begin with. It comes with a set of daily requirements and realities not many of us face. With post-COVID challenges and the recent loss of officers to difficult circumstances, the load on our police officers is especially heavy right now.
For those of us on the outside who don’t and probably can’t understand the job and what our officers are going through, the least we can do is be grateful they’re willing to do it. The lawful society they stand for and the safety they ensure is a big part of what enables the rest of the items on your gratitude list. So, if you know a police officer, tell them thanks.
