Every person of the age of twenty-one years or upwards, belonging to either of the following classes, who shall have resided in the state one year and in the county three months and in the precinct sixty days next preceding any election, shall be a qualified elector at such election: First: Citizens of the United States. Why We Chose It
We’d do well to remember that the freedoms and privileges we enjoy today were fought for by those that came before us. This is proof. It was not always legal for women to vote in North Dakota. It was those pesky progressives and a majority of voters from a 110 years ago that delivered this equality into North Dakota.

Why We Chose It
In the old days, it seems we didn’t bat an eye at letting the health official close down our schools, our churches, and public gathering places. The news of this was no more than a passing blurb in a sea of thousands of words weekly.
What have we forgotten that has turned some among us so rabidly against protecting citizens from unseen public health threats?

Why We Chose It
Few things cost us more in our communities — Minot included — than our unwavering and often hidden subsidies of our cars and trucks. But back when the car was new, this seemed — at least to our local editor — as something worth a little light-hearted questioning.
