PATRONIZE HOME INDUSTRIES.
It is well for us all to talk about patronizing the home merchants, no one will dispute this contention, and we will all have to agree that we ought to patronize local industries as well. We have a number of as fine coal mines as there are in the state right in Ward county, and at the very gateway of the city. This coal can be delivered on the cars at the mines at about two dollars a ton. The price is surely low enough to suit anyone’s pocketbook. The business men ought to discriminate in favor of the local coal, especially when the price is the same as that charged for coal mined in another part of the state. We understand that about 250 cars of coal were shipped into Minot, and lignite coal, too, mind you, from a long distance, last year and sold here in competition with the Ward county coal. We are for home industries, first, last and all the time. Ward county coal is good enough for us. Is it for you?

A Missouri girl’s life was saved by her false hair, which was pulled from her head in a railway accident. Don’t try to tell us that rats and switches are useless.
