Trees provide a lot more value in a community than most people realize, and sometimes it takes a loss to make them aware. In Cedar Rapids, an August 2020 storm packing 140-mph winds took an estimated 670,000 trees across the city. The community mourned. It took ten months to clean up. Now there’s a plan to replant, it’s called Releaf Cedar Rapids.
