Listen: Old-Ramstad School Site a Priority for Disaster Resilience Funding

In January, the City of Minot was awarded ~$74 million through the Housing and Urban Development’s National Disaster Resilience Competition. Since the award announcement, the City has been patiently awaiting federal guidance as to which parts of our competition application were funded, and as of the June 21 Park Board meeting, it seems the City is finally comfortable talking publicly about some specific projects that will get funded.

One early priority will focus on the creation of public gathering spaces within the community, and the first location that will get attention — the site of the old Ramstad Middle School. The goal will be to revitalize the site and turn it into a point of neighborhood and community pride.

Listen below as City Manager Lee Staab updates the Park Board, and if you’re interested in learning more about the City’s plans for the site, put July 18th on your calendar. A public meeting will be held on that date to gather community comments on how the site should be developed.
