Over the last 15 years, few things have changed as much as the way we buy music. It has gone from a social experience in a store with tangible items to a private experience that leaves us with nothing but a digital trail of clicks.
Gone too is the album experience of settling in with an artist’s most recent collection and finding the songs that didn’t have the legs for radio play success, but none the less ended up as personal favorites.
But that’s just for the majority of us. For many music fans, the record store was and still is as valuable as the music itself. It’s a place to browse, chat, and discover new music. And for those who’ve lost a feel for what it’s like to hold music, this Saturday is the perfect chance to recaptureĀ a lost experience or introduce it to the next generation.
